How the Graywater System Works

The A.Gain Graywater Recycling System is designed for the treatment of low polluted effluent from showers, baths, and sinks. After treatment the recycled water can be used for toilet flushing and subsurface irrigation. The A.Gain Graywater System consists of two components: the membrane filter unit to install in an indoor tank and the control unit for indoor installation. The system is designed for a daily treatment capacity of maximum 132 gallons.
The graywater is collected in the submersible membrane bioreactor (MBR). The function of the MBR is an aerobic biological treatment and ultrafiltration by the membrane filter. Aeration is integrated into the filter unit, which is supplied by a compressor located with the control unit. The filter unit is submerged and filtration itself is driven by the pressure of the water on top of the filter unit. Due to the small porosity of 50 nm all particles, solid soils, bacteria, and viruses are removed. The result is a high quality water that meets federal drinking water standards.
